Rainforest Alliance
The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization with over 25 years' experience in the development and promotion of sustainable standards in farming, forestry and tourism. These standards protect the environment and promote the well-being of workers, their families and their communities.
What do they do?
The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. International certification bodies audit farms to the standard of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) for a broad range of ingredients. To address the issues surrounding palm oil production, such as deforestation of rainforests and the destruction of orangutan habitats, the SAN standard was adapted for palm oil, an ingredient used in soaps and other personal care products. It is a solution that is affordable and socially responsible.

The Results
Bradford was the first personal care products manufacturer to offer soaps made with palm oil harvested from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. That means our customers can become leaders in the sustainability movement - and they get to put that cute green frog on their packaging.
